ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — A man was killed after his UTV crashed into a utility pole in Robeson County on Tuesday afternoon, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said.

Robert Dwayne Lewis died in the crash, which happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Chicken Road near Deep Branch Road, according to the highway patrol. Lewis’ UTV was moving south on Chicken Road when it ran off the right of the road and hit a utility pole.

Lewis, who was born in 1990 and was from Rowland, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol impairment was not suspected and speed does not appear to be a contributing factor.
