Tomorrow is the day Zach Bryan will release the highly anticipated self-produced album The Great American Bar Scene. Some lucky fans have already had a chance to listen to the album in full, thanks to ZB setting up listening parties at bars around the country that he felt embodied the spirit of the
Great American Bar Scene. And yeah... I'm very jealous that this good boy heard the songs before some of us. https://www.instagram.com/p/C87CWmEOepZ/ Ahead of the album hitting streaming platforms when the clock strikes midnight, Zach Bryan took to Instagram to share the album's preface. The note to listeners and fans highlights the trials and tribulations that ZB felt when making this album come to life. ZB recalls some fond memories he made while on the road, and I can only assume that these core memories are at the heart of many of the tracks our ears are about to hear. "Preface to 'The Great American Bar Scene' The making of this album tested me and everyone close to me. It drove me to my ends and my beginnings. I saw the lights of Paris after saying I would for ten years, road the coast of Australia with a beautiful woman, was locked in a pub until 7 am in Ireland, walked my favorite street in New York over a hundred times, thought I was going to bleed out in a field in Tennessee, spent a few hours in handcuffs, hugged my grandma more than a few times, laid in the grass of my mother's hometown, sang "State Trooper" in a bar in South of Boston, and wrote something that I think was important.
I wrote and produced all of these with the help of some truly great friends. I finally felt like I's making music again. If you don't like it, I assume it's not intended for you. Grab your beers through tears & fears, The Great American Bar Scene." Zach Bryan has always made music for himself, and it's resonated with such a large group of people beyond his wildest dreams. It's honestly incredible (and very rare) to see so many people authentically connecting with the messaging of what is effectively an indie artist (now signed to Warner, but he operates like an indie artist). It's no surprise that he is staying true to himself and has curated a record that was healing for him and, hopefully, for some others out there as well. I'm not sure about y'all, but reading that last sentence gets me amped to listen to the record from start to finish. Time is ticking, and the countdown is nearing its end. https://www.instagram.com/p/C88aRW-o019/
