Pugs are known for bringing a certain air of chaos everywhere they go. If there's a place a dog is allowed, you could almost bet money that a Pug has been there and caused a scene. No one really knows what it is about them; they just love to whine!

If there's one thing that will always bring out your Pug's raptor-like screeching tendencies, it's food. You better be timely, and the portions better be to their liking... or else. Unfortunately for one Pug mom on Saturday, June 29th, she was not quick enough. Cover your ears and take a look:

Fancy and Juicy wait for no woman. They want their breakfast, and they don't care how many eardrums they have to burst to get it!

Fancy is actually Juicy's mom, so it definitely makes sense that they're both like this. Their human calls Juicy a "mini-Pug," because she's full-grown at 9 pounds - she was the runt of the litter , while the other pup didn't make it. According to her mom, Fancy even tried to eat her !

Luckily, though, both girls have survived, and they're now in the business of yelling at mom every time she's a moment late making their breakfast. This day was no different, and they deserve to be grumpy; between traveling, eating each other's faces, and picking out outfits for the day from their expansive closet, they work up an appetite!

Why Do Pugs Scream So Much?

When you listen to it for the first time, it's easy to wonder if they're in pain. Being a Pug isn't easy; the breed comes with a whole host of health issues including breathing problems, itchy skin, bad joints, pregnancy troubles, and more. And while those are all very valid reasons to scream, Pugs will scream and whine even if they're not in pain.

If your Pug is "screaming" in short, quick bursts, it's because:

    1. They want their food.
    2. They have to go potty.
    3. They're bored.
    4. They miss you.
    5. They saw or heard something that freaked them out.

Typically, you can find Pugs screaming just before mealtimes, just before walks, or when it's been too quiet for a while. Once you satisfy their needs, they should stop (for a little while), but if they continue for longer, it might be best to check with your vet. You can see Fancy and Juicy standing tall and waiting for dinner, which proves that they're just hangry, but a lethargic Pug screaming could be a sign of something more serious!
