Two years ago, speculation started that WWE’s Rhea Ripley and AEW’s Buddy Matthews were dating after he became a regular guest on her Twitch channel, and soon afterward, this would be confirmed. Therefore, fans were ecstatic when the duo announced they were engaged last August, showing their relationship was progressing quickly. And now showing the loved-up couple have found the right person, they have shared a joint Instagram post featuring a photo of them kissing captioned “Til death. 23.06.24,” indicating they tied the knot on Sunday. 27-year-old Ripley was previously in a relationship with indie wrestler Demetri Jackson, who has been an enhancement talent for AEW and WWE. Meanwhile, 35-year-old Matthews was once engaged to Alexa Bliss after they met when both were working for WWE. Yet, while fans were disappointed when these relationships failed to last, things seemed to work out in the end, especially with Bliss having gone on to start a family with Ryan Cabrera.

Over the years, WWE has revived multiple former WCW pay-per-view names for special episodes of NXT and premium live events, and now it appears another former name could be about to be resurrected. That is because it has been noted that on July 2, WWE filed an application for the SuperBrawl trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  Obviously, this doesn’t guarantee the name will be used for NXT, but it seems likely, given the use of Halloween Havoc, The Great American Bash, and even ECW’s Heatwave. SuperBrawl was a noteworthy event in pro wrestling history, making its debut in May 1991, with Ric Flair vs. Tatsumi Fujinami headlining the show. The event would then move to February to coincide with the NFL’s Super Bowl hype, from which it took its name. However, the annual event ended in 2001, and just a month afterward, WWE acquired WCW’s intellectual properties, effectively ending the promotion. Additionally, the name graced WCW’s 1994 Super NES video game, although it was unfavorably reviewed compared to WWF Royal Rumble, released the prior year.

Billy Gunn, a WWE tag team champion 11 times, is best known for his partnerships with Bart Gunn and Road Dogg. However, he also teamed with Chuck Palumbo, and one of his most memorable career moments was a segment on SmackDown where he and Palumbo teased getting married. And now in a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, the current AEW talent revealed he unsuccessfully attempted to bring Palumbo in for cameo appearances in Tony Khan’s promotion, although Palumbo’s lack of desire and busy schedule has always prevented this. 53-year-old Palumbo broke into the business in 1998 and joined WCW the following year. From there, he would win tag team gold with Shawn Stasiak and Sean O’Haire, going on to join WWE in 2001 as part of The Alliance angle after Vince McMahon had purchased WCW. And while his WWE career was unforgettable due to his partnership with Billy Gunn, he never moved above the mid-card and quality retired in 2012 after several years on the indies, having decided to focus on building custom motorcycles.
