AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – The pet rescue group “Friends Of The Animal Shelter” ( FOTAS ) is looking for foster homes to allow adoptable animals from the Aiken County Animal Shelter to spend the Independence Day Holiday in the comfort of a home.

Organizers say fireworks can be terrifying for dogs and even some cats. Being in a home instead of the shelter brings a level of comfort and eases anxiety.

Dogs can be picked up at the Aiken County Animal Shelter any time before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd and can be returned on Friday or Saturday. Ideally, the pet may find its new forever home in the process.

Food, crates and any other items needed will be provided by FOTAS.

For more information, contact FOTAS at (803) 514-4313. To see adoptable pets, click here .
