Issa Update! Mariah The Scientist Enters Plea In Battery Case Involving One Of Young Thug’s Exes

Mariah The Scientist is headed to a similar situation as her public bae, Young Thug. The singer-songwriter is reportedly going to trial for a battery charge she picked up earlier this year.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ , she is requesting a jury trial after filing a waiver of arraignment and pleading not guilty to battery.

Here’s Why Mariah The Scientist Has A Battery Charge

For context, Atlanta cops locked Mariah The Scientist up in May. A woman named Cleopatra Dues accused the singer of attacking her in a local lounge for no reason. She reportedly shares a child with Young Thug, per TMZ.

Police paperwork reportedly claims the incident occurred on March 29. However, a day or two before that date, a 30-second video of two women in a physical brawl circulated online.

A Rapper Previously Denied Brawling With Mariah

Fans initially speculated that one of the ladies was Mariah and that the other was rapper Cleotrapa. Though the singer never addressed the viral video, Cleo, the rapper, cleared the air on March 28 on social media and in an exclusive statement to The Shade Room. Her team told TSR that Cleo was in New York shooting a music video, and there was “no way she could be in that fight.”

According to TMZ, the woman in the tussle was actually Cleopatra Dues . Dues told cops that Mariah The Scientist ripped her wig off and dragged her across the floor at Cavo Kitchen and Cocktail Lounge. Additionally, the mother claims she has had no interaction with the singer before the alleged assault.

Cops put handcuffs on Mariah The Scientist after she allegedly pulled up to the station to state her side. Now, Brian Steel is representing the artist as she heads into the trial. It will likely be the first time we hear Mariah advocate for herself as she has yet to address the beatdown on social media.

As for Brian Steel, his plate seemingly has room to take on Mariah’s case due to a recent update in the YSL trial. Young Thug and his co-defendants’ trial has been paused amid Steel accusing its presiding judge, Ural Glanville, of holding an “ex parte meeting.”

Glanville is now waiting for another judge to decide whether he should recuse himself from the case.
