EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Airbnb has announced they will be placing blocks on certain reservations for the holiday weekend.

According to Airbnb officials, there will be a block on one-night and two-night reservations for the upcoming holiday weekend for entire home listings throughout the United States.

Last year, Airbnb stated in Pennsylvania that 2,800 people were deterred from booking entire home listings over the Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekends.

This block is set in place to decrease the risk of disruptive and unauthorized parties , officials noted.

As stated in the media release from Airbnb, the company is working with police in certain areas of Pennsylvania to help promote a responsible stay.

“We are committed to continue to work with our community, law enforcement and neighbors to promote responsible stays. As part of this effort, ahead of the Fourth of July weekend, we have reached out to certain law enforcement in a number of cities across the US, including in Pennsylvania, to share more on the support we have in place in the rare event of an issue that potentially involves an Airbnb listing or stay. This support includes a dedicated channel for law enforcement requests and assistance from a specialized response team”, the company wrote in their media release.
