TGSO fully staffed following arrival of 2 new deputies

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — Two new deputies have been sworn into the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, joining four other recent hires and filling out the agency’s ranks for the first time in years.

According to TGSO, the new deputies were inducted into the sheriff’s office during a ceremony held in the Tom Green County Commissioners Courtroom at 9 a.m. on July 3. There, Tom Green County Justice of the Peace Stacye Speck swore in Deputies Ryan DeLa Cruz and Ida Rodriguez.

DeLa Cruz and Rodriguez join four other deputies sworn in on June 24: Andrea Macias, Ty Wall, Kevin Wojtek and Hayden Pipken. TGSO stated that, with all six deputies now fully-fledged members of the agency, it is “fully staffed for the first time in many years.”

The deputies are now slated to undergo a 14-week field officer training program. Following the completion of this program, they will begin serving in their respective shifts.

“The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to aggressively enforcing the laws of Texas to maintain the safety and security of all residents,” TGSO said. “The addition of these new deputies reflects our ongoing efforts to strengthen our team and enhance our ability to serve the community.”

Despite being fully staffed, the sheriff’s office is still currently accepting applications from those interested in serving as a corrections officer. Applications may be submitted by individuals by applying online at www.tomgreencountytx.gov .
