WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash at an intersection of Max Meadows Road and Route 11 in Wythe County on Tuesday.

Virginia State Police (VSP) reports a 2020 Harley Davidson was driving westbound on Max Meadows Road just after 3 p.m.

The motorcycle was in an intersection when it was hit by a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 heading northbound on Route 11, VSP stated. The motorcycle then spun out and overturned multiple times.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified by police as Fred H. Stowers, 71, of Max Meadows, was taken to a local hospital where he later died due to his injuries. Stowers was wearing a helmet, according to VSP.

The driver of the Dodge was uninjured in the crash and charges are pending.

    The crash remains under investigation.
