CLIP: Despicable Me 4 Shows Minions Messing up Tennis Match

Despicable Me 4 just dropped a new clip ahead of its cinematic release on 12 July, 2024.

In it, reformed super villain Gru (Steve Carell) is playing a relaxing game of tennis - or at least trying to. Instead, his yellow-hued minions are getting in the way.

One of them has adopted the position of umpire, and seems to be a bit whistle-happy, much to the detriment of the players. It blows its whistle several times, interrupting the server and disrupting the match.

At one point, the minion stops a shot by waltzing into the middle and raising the net several feet into the air. Clearly, playing tennis with a minion around won’t be easy.

After several loud whistle-blows, the player and minion meet in the middle to trade insults. It results in the minion launching a pack of red umpire cards at the player before finally hitting him over the head with a giant one.

Despicable Me 4 is expected to do big numbers at the box office with a predicted haul of $100 million to $125 million during the opening week. That’s a lot, but not quite as much as Inside Out 2, currently the highest grossing movie of 2024 .
