LEGO is providing fans with a sneak peak of their commemorative 'Jaws' set for the movie's 50th anniversary.
The company showcased a first look through an Instagram video. The creative clip features a LEGO minifigure woman in a red swimming costume encountering an enormous LEGO shark .
The post is fittingly captioned with "Da-dum...da-dum...da-dum, da-dum da-dum....etc," mimicking the unforgettable tune from the classic Steven Spielberg film released half a century ago in 1975.
While speculation abounds online regarding further details of the set, LEGO is yet to provide official confirmation.
A post on Instagram account @fateful_lego has claimed that the set will feature 1,497 pieces, priced at $159.99, set for release on the 1st of August. It's expected to include a fishing boat model replicating the one in the movie, along with miniature versions of Chief Martin Brody, Quint, and Matt Hooper - characters famously portrayed by Roy Scheinder, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss.
The real attraction of the set, however, is set to be the mammoth shark, measuring in at half the size of the included boat. Mirror US has reportedly sought direct confirmation surrounding these details from LEGO.
BrickFanatics made a note of the long-awaited set, mentioning it was approved in May of the previous year and has since been in design.
Enthusiastic fans are even taking to Reddit, expressing readiness to spend some serious dosh on the anticipated set.
One user quipped, "I'm gonna need a bigger wallet," while another chimed in with, "We're gonna need a bigger shelf."
These comments playfully nod to the iconic line from the film where Chief Brody remarks, "We're gonna need a bigger boat."
An enthusiast expressed their excitement: "Wow they really knocked it out of the park with the figure too. I'm a massive Quint fan and I'm taking them all to the vineyard to see some filming locations."
Another individual commented: "Honestly, best LEGO diorama set yet [in my opinion]. But I still think dioramas are massively overpriced for what they are. I'd pay like [$100] at most for this one."
