Two Blount County students have each received a $5,000 scholarship from Arconic Foundation’s 2024 Scholarship Program.

Chloe Beaver and Emily Mincey were two of the 19 students selected out of 75 applicants.

Beaver, a graduate of Greenback High School, plans to get her associate degree from Pellissippi State Community College before pursuing a career in nursing, the Arconic release stated.

During her time in high school, Beaver was a member of HOSA-Future Health Professionals and played volleyball.

Mincey, an honors graduate of William Blount High School, also plans to attend Pellissippi State and hopes to eventually study law.

While at WBHS, she participated in the Air Force Junior Officer Training Corps as a member of the drill team.

Mincey’s parents are both Arconic employees.

Other recipients included Nicholas Canales and Ghaith Khattab, both of Knoxville and Johnathan Russell, of Maynardville.

The scholarship program recognizes students for their “outstanding educational achievements,” the release stated.

Students are selected by an independent panel of judges based on criteria such as academic achievements, leadership, volunteerism and character.

“Tennessee Operations is extremely proud to have five recipients among such an accomplished group of students. We congratulate their parents on this recognition and wish the students the best in their college careers,” said Tennessee Operations Location Manager Chad Birge.
