How Republicans will attack Kamala Harris

With post-debate polls showing that Vice President Kamala Harris performs better against former President Donald Trump than President Joe Biden , the National Republican Congressional Committee has already released an ad attacking Harris for enabling Biden.

The ad starts with Harris saying, “I’ve been privileged and proud to serve as vice president of the United States with Joe Biden as president,” over white block lettering that says, “KAMALA IS BIDEN’S ENABLER IN CHIEF.”

The video then plays clips of Harris calling Biden a “fighter” and a “leader with skill” interspersed with clips of Biden falling on stairs and off of his bike.

The ad then switches gears to the border crisis, showing throngs of illegal immigrants entering the country over more white block lettering, this time saying, “AND ARCHITECT OF THE BORDER CRISIS.” We see Chuck Todd ask Harris, “You are confident this border is secure?” to which Harris answers, “The border is secure.”

The ad then switches to claiming House Democrats are just as complicit as Harris is. This is after all an NRCC ad.

The ad then finishes with some of Harris's most memorable psychobabble, including, "That’s on top of everything else that we know and don’t know yet based on what we’ve just been able to see and because we’ve seen it or not doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened."

The ad is pretty devastating but it could have been a lot worse. This is just a taste of what voters will see online if Harris is gifted the nomination.

For starters, the Chuck Todd interview came just three days after Laken Riley’s alleged killer illegally crossed the southern border and was paroled into the United States by Biden . Harris is going to have to explain what is “secure” about that.

Harris was also one of Biden’s primary opponents who, unlike Biden, said illegally crossing the southern border should be decriminalized . Does she still support that?

And then there are the many other statements Harris has made that, to be polite, don’t sound presidential.

“You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?” Harris likes to say on pretty much any issue. “You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.”

And then there is her dissertation on time: "Talking about the significance of the passage of time, right, the significance of the passage of time. So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time."

And then there is this banger: “It is time for us to do what we have been doing. And that time is every day.”

And then this one that the Daily Show devoted a whole segment to making fun of: “We have the ability to see what can be, unburdened by what has been, and then to make the possible actually happen.”

Can Harris redefine herself as anything other than a late-night punch line? If she gets the nomination, we will all find out.
