    Good morning, Ottawa County.

Expect to feel a balmy 84 degrees for a high today and a low of 69. degrees. The humidity could be high, as there's a 70% chance of precipitation, which could turn into thunderstorms.

I'm switching things around a bit for what has become more of an Independence Weekend. Some events started as early as Wednesday, but things will be happening today and over the weekend.

Independence Day celebrations beyond July Fourth

While the big Independence Day event in Port Clinton took place Thursday, many Sandusky County communities have Independence Day activities planned through the weekend.

Celebrations start in Woodville with the 82nd annual July Fourth Extravaganza at Trail Marker Park through Saturday. The midway opened Wednesday at 5 p.m. with other events, but Friday will include a 5k race at 7 p.m. and other evening entertainment.

Woodville will hold its Grand Parade Saturday at noon and awards will follow at 2 p.m. Fireworks are set for dusk.

The City of Clyde will celebrate Fourth of July festivities in Community Park on Friday, with most activities between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Beginning at 5 p.m. will be kids crafts, inflatables, live music and games for children including a sack race, relays and water balloon toss. Food will be available. A hitting competition is set for 8 p.m. and the night caps off with fireworks at 10 p.m. over the reservoir.

Fremont's annual Fourth of July Parade in downtown will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, and a variety of other events are scheduled through the day.

The Village of Green Springs will host fireworks Saturday at dusk. A parade will be held at 3 p.m. with line-up at Green Springs School at 2:30 p.m.
