    Man injured in Walworth County home explosion dies

    LAFAYETTE, Wis. -- A man who was injured after his home exploded Tuesday afternoon has died, the Walworth County Sheriff's Office confirmed Wednesday.

    First responders were called to a home along Kulow Road in the Town of Lafayette at around 2:18 p.m. for reports of a fire and an explosion. Once they arrived, deputies found a small fire and confirmed that an explosion had occured.

    Leland R. Holden, 68, was found in the rubble and taken by Flight for Life to a trauma center, where he later died.

    The Elkhorn Fire Department is investigating the cause of the explosion with assistance from the State Fire Marshall and Walworth County Sheriff's Office.
