Losing a family member is one of the hardest things anyone can experience. One grieving duck named Olaf lost multiple siblings and was left all alone—until an unexpected friendship with a Newfoundland dog named Sven blossomed, and his heart began to heal.

In the sweetest TikTok video shared by Sven and Olaf's humans ( @adventuresofbissandolee ), the bond between the Newfoundland "Brown Bear" and rescue duck is too precious for words. See their unique friendship and be prepared to swoon!

In the 13-second video captioned, "He will never be alone again," Olaf waddles around, following his favorite being on the planet, new big brother Sven. The two have fun exploring their acreage before taking a joint dip in the shared kiddie pool to cool off from the summer heat. Sven playfully paws at the water while Olaf stands proud on the pup's tail, splashing, snuggling, and having the time of his life. It looks like the best time!

Of their more than 80,000 followers, the video captured the hearts of many whose day was made by seeing this dynamic duo look out for, and love one another.

"Newfies are the best! So cute being the duck's bff," one person wrote. "Every duck deserves to be besties with a Newfoundland," another said. "This is the most beautiful video I have ever seen, bless their hearts," another added.

Of the dozens of other videos on TikTok showcasing these two, it's clear they're a match made in pet heaven!

Why Newfoundlands Dogs Make Good Pet Friends

Though fluffy Newfoundland dogs have the appearance of giant bears, their unique personality traits make them one of the best breeds for pet and human companions for many reasons. The American Kennel Club says the Newfoundland breed is a "patient and watchful nanny dog for kids," thanks to their sweet temperament and disposition. They couldn't hurt a fly and love attention making them like actual living teddy bears for pet friends and family alike!

These gentle giants grow quite large—up to 150 pounds—but don't let it fool you. They're all cuddles. The AKC notes "Newfs'" "most important single characteristic" is their calm temperament and they're typically outgoing and incredibly intelligent. Their affinity for kids makes them great protectors, and, because they're trusting and trainable, responding well to "gentle guidance," and eager to please, they're excellent farm dogs, too.

There's nothing Newfoundland's can't do which is exactly why Olaf found a home in Sven's good graces. Now, Olaf will never be alone again. Thanks, Sven!
