House of the Dragon Star Cast in Blade Runner 2099

Matthew Needham has joined the cast of Blade Runner 2099 .

The House of the Dragon star, who plays gossip-loving Larys Strong in HBO’s fantasy drama, is one of several actors recently snapped up for Prime Video’s sci-fi series taking place in the Blade Runner universe.

As reported by Variety , Blade Runner 2099 has also added to its cast Dimitri Abold ( The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes ) Lewis Gribben ( Somewhere Boy ), Katelyn Rose Downey ( The Nun II ), Daniel Rigby ( Renegade Nell ), Johnny Harris ( A Gentleman In Moscow ), Amy Lennox ( Only Child ), and Sheila Atim ( The Woman King ).

They join Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh, who are in the starring roles. While there’s no official synopsis at this point, we know the series is set following the events of Ridley Scott’s 1982 original movie Blade Runner , and its 2017 sequel, Blade Runner 2049 .

While Ridley Scott won’t direct the series, he’s on board as co-executive producer. Blade Runner 2099 is currently in production in Prague, and is set to also shoot in Barcelona.
