The New England Patriot s, in their first offseason with Eliot Wolf and Jerod Mayo at the helm, have done their best to retain and extend a number of their players to build a strong core for the foreseeable future.

However, one player that the Patriots haven't locked up yet beyond this year is linebacker Matthew Judon, and he took to social media on Wednesday to express his belief that an extension in New England this offseason isn't in the cards.

Judon, 31, is entering the final year of his current deal after agreeing to a revised contract last offseason that shifted some of his salary up from 2024 to 2023. The investment didn't work out well for New England, as Judon suffered a torn biceps in Week 4, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season.

Still, Judon has been the team's most productive pass-rusher when healthy, recording 62 quarterback hits and 32 sacks in his 38 games with the team and making two Pro Bowls in his two full seasons.

Now, it doesn't feel like Judon is happy with how the negotiations have gone. He had said all of the right things publicly until now. The question will not be: Does this force the Patriots' hand?
