It used to be that McDonald's golden arches were the only ones we got excited about seeing, but ever since we hit a certain age, we've developed quite the thing for garden arches.

These beautiful structures can add so much dimension and interest in your yard by taking your plants vertical, creating a really dynamic looking landscape. Not only that, but they're definitely a lifesaver for those gardening in small spaces, since they allow you to grow plants that you might not otherwise have the room for!

Take a look at how one woman did just that, using her garden trellis in a bit of an unexpected way.

We're loving @fromhaustohome's approach to garden trellises. Not only did she give this elevated gardening structure a bit more height by putting the ends in flowerpots, but she was also able to move this so that she could capture the perfect light.

Next, she added two different types of vining plants to the pots, one on either side. This allowed her to grow some veggies in her otherwise mainly floral garden, giving her the perfect chance to get started on her homesteading journey.

Okay, we are here for all of this!

Now, don't get discouraged if you don't have the space for a trellis, or if you don't want to add gourds and cucumbers to your yard like the OP did. There are plenty of other creative options you can use!

Gardener Uses a Trellis for her Tomatoes

Another cool thing about trellising is that really is no wrong way to do it. Just take a look at how this woman built a trellis for her tomato plants , completely bypassing the traditional method of using a cage to keep them upright.

You don't even have to spring for a fancy trellis like some people use, instead you can make your own using stuff you have on hand, like sturdy twigs and sticks from nearby trees.

In fact, there are lots of creative ways to make a trellis . This woman used twine to set hers up, attaching it to a wooden frame that she made on her own. This works great for vining veggies as well as flowers, because once it's covered you can actually see whatever materials you used to put the trellis together in the first place.

Garden Arch Adds Whimsy to the Yard

As you can see, we're big fans of upright gardening, so we were always going to love the OP's design. That being said, we really do think that something like this will make a great addition to your yard, no matter what kind of layout you're working with!
