DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD)—Deputies in Dorchester County will patrol the roads and conduct traffic checkpoints during the Fourth of July holiday, the agency announced.

The nighttime checkpoints will be conducted at two locations:
    –            Highway 17A and Clubhouse Road
    –            Miles Jamison Road and Braly Drive

Deputies will check for a valid driver’s license, signs of impairment, and proper child restraints (if applicable), the sheriff’s office said.

Checkpoint locations were determined by analyzing areas with heavy collisions, citizen traffic complaints, and previous enforcement.

Motorists should use caution and be alert in the county.
