If you fell into the Pinterest rabbit hole a few years ago and created one of those backyard setups that included a few giant wood posts cemented into buckets and strung up with lights, have we got the perfect update for you.

One TikToker has come up with a great way to dress those posts up, making them a little more individualized. Not only that, but the trick also makes them a little more functional, since it allows you to add even more light to your outdoor space!

Take a look at what we mean and then update your posts using this super simple idea.

It looks like @gardenwithamanda gave her planter a literally glow up by adding a strand of fairy lights, which she then used as a climbing structure for a beautiful Jasmine plant.

For anyone who doesn't know, Jasmine smells absolutely amazing, and since this is obviously in an area where Amanda and her family frequent, she just gave her backyard the biggest boost ever by adding the sweet smelling floral.

Now, not only does she get to enjoy the scents of her plant, she'll also get to have a little more light thanks to her the strand of fairy lights, which will make nighttime entertain that much easier!

Night gardening is a great way to make those light up features a bigger part of your landscape, which is why we love the idea of adding them to your yard. But stringing some lights or adding solar powered statues aren't the only way to get it done. You can also add lights outside another way... and this one is a fun DIY project you can even get your kids on.

Make Table Lamps Out of Wine Glasses

This clever woman figured out that she could add a touch of intimate lighting to her outdoor entertaining area by using some old wine glasses, a disposable up, a battery powered tealight, and some paint.

Just take a look at the video where she walks her followers through the process of putting it together, giving them a great idea of what it looks like both before and after it's done.

These are such a great idea for small parties where you know you'll be spending a lot of time around the patio table, especially if you don't need to add a ton of extra light for whatever you're doing outside!

Just note: these should only be created using battery powered candles. Real candles will create a fire hazard.

    Lights Make Gardens More Whimsical

Adding those small touches, like a bit of extra lighting, can really change the entire vibe of your space. That's why we're always down for a project that involves brightening things up a bit!
