OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) — At the Ohio County Animal Shelter, there’s no room at the inn.

Every cage is occupied by a dog, cat, or kitten.

So, for now, they can no longer accept any animals being surrendered by their owners.

This is good news for anyone thinking about adopting a new pet.

There are deep discounts on adoption fees.

Instead of the ordinary cost of $80, they are now down to $30, with lots of benefits.

We are doing an adoption fee of $30 for your dog and your cat for two weeks. They will have their feline distemper and de-worming for your cat and parvo, distemper and de-worming for your dogs. And each animal comes with a $51 certificate for spaying or neutering at the vet of your choice.”

The shelter also has rabies clinics next week at various schools in Ohio County.

Check their Facebook page for times and dates.

The shelter is ordinarily open from 12:30 to 5, seven days a week.

But it will be closed Thursday and Friday due to the Independence Day holiday.
