Do you love the chic and unique look of Anthropologie furniture but hate the price tag? You're not alone. Many of us dream of owning those dreamy dressers and side tables but can't justify spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Luckily, there's an alternative that lets you achieve that Anthro aesthetic without emptying your wallet. Enter TikTok creator Jasmine's incredible DIY dresser flip, which turned a roadside freebie into a stunning piece that looks just like a $1,500 Anthropologie dresser for a fraction of the cost.

Jasmine's inspiration came from a $1,598 Anthropologie three-drawer dresser with a beautiful off-white color and a raised floral motif. What she had, however, was a dresser picked up from the side of the road. It wasn’t exactly in pristine condition; it was made of MDF—a material just one step above cardboard—and had a laminate surface. Jasmine knew she had her work cut out for her, but she was determined to transform this free-99 piece of furniture into something extraordinary.

The first step was to strip the dresser down to its bare bones. Jasmine began by peeling off all the moldings, which also meant removing 132 nails. And if you think that sounds tedious, you'd be absolutely right. But Jasmine stuck it out, knowing that removing these moldings was crucial to the end result.

Once the moldings were off, she was left with damaged wood riddled with nail holes. This is where Bondo, a type of wood filler, came into play. Jasmine used Bondo to fill in all the imperfections and create a smooth surface. After the Bondo dried, she sanded it down and added primer to prepare the dresser for painting.

Next came the painting process. Jasmine chose a light cream color that was just a few shades off from the original Anthropologie piece. She carefully applied several coats, allowing each layer to dry thoroughly before adding the next. This meticulous attention to detail ensured a flawless finish.

But the real magic happened when Jasmine added the resin flowers. Using floral molds, she created delicate flower shapes out of resin. Once the flowers were ready, she glued them onto the dresser in a pattern reminiscent of the Anthropologie design. To ensure a seamless look, she painted the resin flowers the same color as the dresser.

The final touch was adding the gold hardware. Jasmine chose elegant gold knobs that complemented the cream color and floral design perfectly. With the hardware in place, her transformation was complete, and the results were nothing short of breathtaking. The dresser looked like it had just been plucked from the pages of an Anthropologie catalog, but it had cost a mere fraction of the price.
