    Tornado Warning expires in Stone and Taney County

    UPDATE 8:35 PM: The National Weather Service has expired the tornado warning in Stone and Taney counties.

    A severe thunderstorm warning is still in effect in Taney County and southeastern Stone County until 9:15 p.m.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado warning for parts of Stone and Taney counties.

    The tornado warning covers Western Taney County and Central Stone County and is in effect until 8:30 p.m.

    The NWS says a severe thunderstorm that could produce a tornado was spotted moving east from Kimberling City at 25 mph.

    Residents are urged to take shelter immediately.
