HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is continuing daytime closures on KY 109 in Hopkins County to allow for more debris removal on the roadway.

On July 2 and 3 , The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet closed KY 1220, also known as Olney Road, and Daylight Road at the old Charleston School from 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m..

Crews are now scheduled to close the same stretch of road on July 8 through July 12 from 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m..

Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet say heavy traffic has slowed efforts to clear the roadway.

Officials say crews have been working to remove debris left behind by the Memorial Day weekend tornado since May 26.

Those driving on the roadway have been asked by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to pay attention to signs along the road, and to watch for workers.
