Cocteau Twins co-founder Robin Guthrie has released a new EP titled Atlas. He wrote, performed and produced it himself. “I got travelling again after the pandemic and that’s always a source of inspiration for me,” says Robin. “I absorb a lot and get most creative when I have travelled. As for the title ‘Atlas’, I found an old radio and was struck with how many of the places on the dial no longer existed. I was attracted to the romantic notion that these places were very far away, not only in distance but now in time as well. The world seems a smaller and more familiar place nowadays.”

MUNA‘s Katie Gavin has announced her debut solo album. What A Relief is due out on October 25 via Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory Records, and Gavin describes it as “Lilith Fair-core.” She says, “This record spans a lot of my life – it’s about having a really deep desire for connection, but also encountering all the obstacles that stood in my way to be able to achieve that, patterns of isolation or even boredom with the real work of love. According to a press release, “It’s essentially the same record as what could have been Superdrag’s comeback album, it was just completed with a different set of musicians backing up Davis.”
