Braves' Brian Snitker Goes Viral After Scary Foul Ball Miss

Things haven't exactly gone the Atlanta Braves' way this season. Sure, they're still one of the better teams in the National League, but they're not NL East division leaders like they have been for the last several years.
Part of that is due to a near laundry list of injuries the team has suffered throughout this season. Leading them are right-handed flamethrower Spencer Strider and last year's NL MVP Ronald Acuna Jr., both sidelined with season-ending injuries.
On Wednesday night, the Braves almost suffered another injury, albeit this time to their very own skipper, Brian Snitker.
Braves' manager Brian Snitker in the dugout during Monday night's game against the Giants.
Standing atop the steps of the Braves' dugout as he normally does, Snitker was unceremoniously greeted with a foul ball off his second baseman, Ozzie Albies' bat that darted for a very uncomfortable part of the male anatomy. Check the video below.
"Oh, that hit Brian Snitker. He's okay... That bounced right into his belly," Braves lead broadcast announcer Brandon Gaudin said.
On the replay, Gaudin and his partner in the booth, C.J. Nitkowski, quickly noticed the foul hit a different area.
"Oh, no. Not on the belly," Gaudin said. "Never mind. That's a different kind of belly."
"Belt buckle. Hopefully," Nitkowski said.
"Does a manager wear a cup?" Gaudin added.
Snitker was quick to smile and wave off everyone, implying that he was okay.
Snitker's near catastrophe, of course, went viral.
The Braves avoided another one of their guys being sent to the injured list. They also beat the San Francisco Giants 3-1 to even the series. They'll meet in the rubber match tomorrow at 7:20 EST. Logan Webb is the expected starter for the Giants; Charlie Morton is expected on the bump for the Braves.
