Popular South Korean actor Song Il-Kook and his triplets, famously known as Song triplets, appeared as guests for the most recent You Quiz on the Block episode. The triplets, Daehan, Minguk, and Mansae, took social media by storm as users shared memories of when they were little kids. The trio, alongside their father, appeared in the popular variety show “The Return of Superman” and quickly rose to fame as the Song triplets.

Hosts Yoo Jae-Suk and Cho Se-Ho welcomed Song Il-Kook and the Song triplets enthusiastically, as did viewers. Social media users flooded X (formerly Twitter) with shock and surprise over the Song triplets’ growth, as they remembered them as tiny babies. According to Nielsen Korea, the You Quiz on the Block episode even achieved its personal best nationwide rating of 6.84%.

Who are Song Il-Kook and his triplets (Song triplets)?

Song Il-Kook is a popular South Korean actor who became well-known after his appearance in the 2006 hit drama series Jumong, or Prince of the Legend. He has also played diverse roles in other K-dramas and movies, including Lobbyist, The Kingdom of the Winds, Emperor of the Sea, The Art of Seduction, Goblin, and others.

Meanwhile, Song Il-Kook married his non-celebrity wife, and the two became parents to Song triplets in 2012. In 2014, Song Il-Kook and the trio appeared in the popular KBS show The Return of Superman. The triplets, named Daehan, Minguk, and Mansae, became an instant favorite among the citizens. Their names interestingly translate to “Long live the Republic of Korea.” Viewers enjoyed watching them for two years before they left the show.

A decade after being away from the public eye, Song Il-Kook and the triplets returned to television. They appeared on You Quiz on the Block, sharing several memories. Meanwhile, hosts Yoo Jae-Suk and Cho Se-Ho were stunned to see how the triplets have grown over the years. Wearing matching outfits, the Song triplets, now 12 years old, shared their memories from the KBS show and talked about them being the tallest in school.

Meanwhile, Song Il-Kook revealed that he is currently acting in a play named Macbeth with fellow actor Hwang Jung-Min.
