John named Legislator of the Year by Ohio Society of Professional Engineers

State Rep. Marilyn John was named legislator of the year by the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers at the organization's 146th annual meeting in Columbus.

John, R-Mansfield, was recognized in part for guiding an extensive House review of approximately one-third of Ohio’s occupational license boards, including the professional engineers license board. As chair, she led the Ohio House State and Local Government Committee's efforts to prepare a detailed report on barriers to entry or regulations that could be reduced or eliminated for Ohioans pursuing careers in these occupations.

The review and report resulted in legislation that directly impacts Ohio professional engineers and Ohioans who come into contact with engineering work products.

John is serving her second term. She is a lifelong resident of Richland County and represents the 76th House District.
