Ever wondered if a mess-free burger exists? Well, it does — sort of. Burger bowls are a viral food trend that serves the sandwich’s ingredients in a bowl rather than a bun. You get a taste of ground beef, tomatoes and other mix-ins in each bite without worrying if it will spill everywhere. Even better, these bowls are full of hearty protein to fill you up. Here’s how to make burger bowls as a fun and feel-good meal option!

    What is a burger bowl?

Call it a burger bowl or salad, this dish is loaded with all the sandwich ingredients you could imagine. Popular ingredients in these bowls include ground beef, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, burger sauce and even fries. There’s no bun in sight, so you’ll be enjoying those savory and tangy flavors by the forkful.

    How to make burger bowls

This recipe from @ErinLivesWhole showcases an easy method for whipping up these filling bowls. It combines the ingredients for the base with a homemade burger sauce. This creates an all-in-one dish bursting with rich, tangy and creamy flavors. While the original recipe uses sweet potatoes for the fries, russet or Yukon gold potatoes work fine too. Also, you can reduce the dish's fat content by substituting ground turkey or chicken for beef. It's truly a simple and hunger-satisfying dinnertime delight!
