At present, NJSOSVETS provides emergency hotel stays for veterans in seven counties across NJ. To support these efforts, NJ Governor Phil Murphy and his administration have worked alongside stakeholders and community partners to deliver timely services to those “who answered the call to serve.” Gov. Murphy has made combating veterans' homelessness a priority.

The state made $250,000 available to NJSOSVETS in the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget. This funding has supported efforts to connect veterans and their families with emergency housing across the Garden State.

"We are thrilled to be able to extend our services to Middlesex, Warren, and Somerset Counties," said David Pearson Co-Chair of NJSOSVETS. "Our mission is to ensure that every veteran has access to the support and resources they need to thrive. By expanding our emergency hotel stays, we are taking a significant step towards achieving that goal."

NJSOSVETS recognizes the importance of supporting veterans in crisis and is committed to expanding such services. The initiative immediately places homeless veterans in a hotel for three days and connects them with an SSVF Provider for case management services within that three-day window period.
