Although it’s rare, there are times when wild animals want to be domesticated. Perhaps they are attracted to the lives of our pets and wish to be a part of it, or maybe they enjoy the smells and sounds coming from our homes.

While this family has not encouraged the fox to come inside, it is clear he’s considering making it his residence. Watch the video from June 20 to see his unusually social personality.

Welcome to Freddie’s new nap spot! While he is an outdoor boy he does love human interaction and sleeping in a doorway is his favourite compromise 😊🦊🧡 (this mat is far easier to manage for fleas etc than a dog bed indoors, a hoover and a spray on hard flooring will do fine 🫶🏼) #freddieandfran #foxesoftiktok #wildlife #fyp #foxtok #wildliferescue #wildliferescue

How precious is this? Freddie, the fox, understands he’s safe in Thea’s (@ feeyatheflowertot ) presence. In fact, she might be a real-life Snow White. She explains that Freddie and his pal Ferbert were abandoned here as babies, and that’s why they are so comfortable. Thanks to the care of this family and the help of Fox Angels, he’s also been receiving medication to treat his mange . He must feel much better now that he’s almost back to perfect health! These charming creatures do not disturb the family’s cats; they’ve even learned to live peacefully with the badgers visiting the yard. As long as it was good with my dogs, I wouldn’t complain if one chose me to be its mom, either.

Are All Foxes Friendly With Humans?

No, most won’t try to interact with humans . However, Wildlife Online reports they are highly adaptable creatures that have become accustomed to human activity. But this does not mean they are not wild. Like our pet dogs or cats, they can be lured with food. When feeding foxes , it is crucial to provide only minimal amounts, and it should never be processed or something they wouldn’t find in nature. Additionally, they should never be fed by hand. If you want to support these creatures in your area, providing a bowl of water is recommended, which is likely more essential for them than snacks.

People shared their thoughts on this unlikely friendship. Viewer @RyanWestray responded, “Foxes supposedly are showing signs they are trying to domesticate themselves like cats did.” That appears to be true. Viewer @Kez remarked, “Thank you for helping him. They are the most beautiful creatures. I’m so glad people help them and feed them. They definitely need it. Life must be tough with all their habitats being built on.” With humans encroaching on their land, it must get more challenging by the day. Viewer @purrrfectplates responded, “Thank you for looking after him!” It is a beautiful sight to see.

It’s always heartwarming to see people willing to care for animals without expecting anything in return. They are a loving beacon of light and hope in a challenging world.
