If you have young children, your refrigerator is probably filled with their artwork. However, our four-legged kids couldn’t contribute until a creative genius developed the latest trend. Now, even our furry children can showcase their artistic talents and decorate our walls.
When I first stumbled upon this unique idea, I was skeptical. But after witnessing the impressive creations of these three siblings, I can’t help but wonder what my dogs would come up with.
Check out this video from June 28 to witness their artistic journey!
For a cat as sophisticated as Mr. Milo (@ mr.milothechonk ), preparing a painting to explore his creative side seems appropriate. Unfortunately, as he tells us, he also had to share this activity with his siblings, Poppy and Beckham. LOL! Everyone got right to work after the “Spare human” prepared each pallet. He reveals, “Creating a masterpiece takes great skill and finesse. It’s all about the technique.” The technique for this feline involved licking, stomping, and rubbing into the paint. Then, because he felt his sister Poppy was an amateur, he gave her some creative advice. As you might imagine, she was not open to his suggestions.

The finished artwork was fun to see! Milo described his as “A captivating masterpiece; it evokes a sense of emotion and depth that transcends the canvas.” It came out pretty good! However, he felt that his sister Poppy’s art was “Difficult to look at without feeling queasy.” And Beckham, the dog's painting was “A messy splatter of color without clear direction.” LOL! Although Milo undoubtedly has discerning taste, they all did a terrific job!
Creating Mess-Free Paw Art
Although other trends suggest using our pet’s paws as paintbrushes, this method makes it much easier to paint a masterpiece without the mess.
- Prepare the space. Use a tablecloth or floor covering to ensure the paint remains contained.
- Use non-toxic children’s paint. Just in case a bag rips or breaks, your pet will not come in contact with toxic dyes or oils.
- Place the canvas in a sturdy zippered bag.
- Smear a high-value food or treat over the plastic to attract your cat or dog. For cats, sprinkling on a bit of catnip helps to entice them even more.
- Once the artwork is completed, remove the canvas from the bag. Allow it to dry.
People found the creativity of these three siblings impressive. One person responded, “All three are winners. Abstract, but full of creativity, technique, and skill. Three amazing artists.” I agree! Viewer @alaska.watercolor remarked, “Beckham’s reminds me of Monet-one of the water sunsets.” I can see that!
This fun idea can also be an inexpensive way to add artwork to your home. Not only will your paintings be original, but you’ll never forget the fun of making them with your pets.
