The adventures of Gru and his minion continue on Despicable Me 4, which hit theaters on July 3. This time around, fans of the franchise will follow as Gru welcomes a new member to the family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. But their peaceful existence soon comes crashing down when criminal mastermind Maxime Le Mal escapes from prison and vows revenge against Gru.
The film was released ahead of the Fourth of July weekend in the United States and is expected to be another film that keeps the box office streak alive after it had a slow start in 2024. Another animated movie, Disney 's Inside Out 2, is currently at the top of the box office and soon fans will see where Despicable Me 4 lands.

Where can fans watch Despicable Me 4 right now?
Universal Pictures’ Despicable Me 4 was released exclusively in theaters on Wednesday, July 3, ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend. That means that right now, fans can only watch Despicable Me 4 by purchasing a ticket at their local movie theaters.
How long will Despicable Me 4 be in theaters?
The length of how many weeks a movie is available to watch in movie theaters all depends on the movie studio and often also depends on how well it performs at the box office on its opening weekend. The higher the amount the film grosses in ticket sales, it the more fan interest so studios tend to extend their theatrical release before it's available to stream or to purchase for home viewing.
When will you be able to stream Despicable Me 4 at home?
Despicable Me 4 will likely be streaming on Peacock approximately three to four months after its July 3 theatrical release. That means fans can tune in sometime around October or November of this year. Universal and Netflix signed a multi-year deal, so the movie will also be on Netflix for the middle ten months and then exclusively on Peacock for the last four months.
The estimated Peacock release will be around October or November. Then it will arrive on Netflix in March 2025, to the return to Peacock in January 2026. For example, Kung Fu Panda 4, which was released three months ago, will premiere Peacock on July 6.
Despicable Me 4 will be available to watch at home before it comes out on Peacock and Netflix. Fans can purchase and rent the movie earlier on digital VOD platforms such as Prime Video and YouTube TV, which is usually available within 45 to 65 days after its theatrical premiere. Based on previous releases, Despicable Me 4 might be available digitally as early as mid-August.
