Greatest country in the world, baby. It's one of the best holidays of the year, as Americans celebrate the 4th of July (and not being British) with some grilling, some (a lot of) drinks, and of course, explosives. Now when I say explosives, most Americans will opt for fireworks for their Independence Day celebrations. But Hank Williams Jr.
is a different breed. A couple of years ago, Hank decided to celebrate the 4th with a "Bocephus Firecracker" - shooting off an original Civil War cannon. The cannon is a 12-pound Napoleon from 1863, a type of cannon that was known as the workhorse of the Civil War and used by both the Union and the Confederacy, though the Union produced around 1100 while the Confederacy only produced around 600. Hank's cannon features Union markings, but no record of the gun, so it's hard to trace its exact origin or history - though Hank thinks that it may be one that confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest may have stolen from the Union army. But it's far from the only cannon in Hank's collection: Bocephus is an avid collector of Civil War memorabilia, and even showed off his collection in rare footage from an Audience Network special: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoB4jYlWDl0 Tell me that doesn't make you proud to be an American. Hopefully Bocephus is celebrating today by firing off a few rounds from his cannon collection.
