According to Sport , the defender said that he has relished playing alongside the youngster for their national team, saying: "He is a great player, he is bringing out all his potential. Either way, Williams has been resolute in maintaining his focus on his international commitments for now, saying: "Everything that comes from outside is good, it means I’m doing my job well. Every kid dreams of being noticed by big clubs. I’m focused on doing well at the European Championship and whatever comes after that I’ll find out because these days I’m totally disconnected."

Likewise, he also informed AS that he is not paying much attention to any speculation linking him with a move away from boyhood club Bilbao at this stage. In a telling remark, he asserted: "I said that I didn’t want to know anything about what comes from outside, about signings or stories.

"They know what I am like, the personality I have, and I don’t like to know because I get distracted easily. I prefer to focus on one thing and go for it. Because if one thing or another comes to me, in the end my head doesn’t work very well. My agent, my parents and my family know me perfectly and they know that I don’t want to hear anything until the Euros are over."
