    Driver dies after crashing into Brier Creek in Randolph County

    RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A driver is dead after crashing into Brier Creek in Randolph County, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

    On Thursday, troopers say a vehicle was heading west on Little Uwharrie Road when it lost control, overcorrected, hit a road sign and crashed into the creek. The vehicle came to rest upside down.

    A passing driver called law enforcement after spotting the vehicle in the creek.

    The driver, whose name has not been released, died. Investigators are working to determine what led to the crash.
