    Level 2 evacuations (Get Set) ordered for wildfire in Douglas County

    DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. -- An 840-acre brush fire is burning in Douglas County on Thursday evening, according to the Washington State Fire Marshall's Office.

    As of 9 p.m. on July 4, Level 2 evacuations (Be ready to leave) were ordered for people near the wildfire burning near the town of Mansfield in Douglas County.

    Around 6:30 p.m., the Washington State Patrol authorized the use of state firefighting resources at the request of Douglas County Fire District 5.

    The fire began around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday and is burning mainly on brush and grass.

    The fire is about a two-hour drive from Spokane and is believed to have been caused by a downed power line, according to Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
