Funeral fundraiser set up for Barbour County miner killed in I-79 wreck

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — The family of a Barbour County coal miner who was killed in a vehicle accident on Interstate 79 this week is asking for the public’s help to pay for funeral expenses.

According to a Facebook post from the fundraiser , Eddie Sullivan was killed Tuesday, July 2 while on his way home from Bailey Mine in southwestern Pennsylvania, leaving a pregnant wife and two daughters at home.

The post said donations can be made via Cash App and Venmo and will go toward Sullivan’s funeral expenses as well as the livelihood of his wife and children in his absence.

As of Thursday evening, officials have yet to release a statement on Tuesday’s wreck on I-79 that shut down traffic for hours , including the condition of those involved and the cause behind the wreck.
