    Nearly 2,000 PG&E customers without power in Placer County amid heat wave

    (FOX40.COM) — According to PG&E’s outage map , nearly 2,000 customers are without power in Placer County on the evening of the Fourth of July holiday amid triple-digit temperatures currently hitting the state.

    The utility company said the outage was first reported around 6 p.m. on Thursday and is affecting 1,793 customers in the Colfax area, about an hour north of Sacramento.

    The primary areas affected are the communities of Twin Pines, Weimar, New England Mills, and Pinecroft.

    PG&E said power is expected to be restored around 11 p.m. on Thursday.
