National outlet sings high praise of a former Cardinals first-round pick

Paris Johnson Jr. knows he has the talent to take the league by storm heading into his second season.

The 23-year-old offensive tackle will help anchor the Arizona Cardinals offensive line for years to come. And Bleacher Reports' David Kenyon believes he is the team's best young building block heading into the 2024 season.

"Similar to Robinson in Atlanta, positional value is the reason that tight end Trey McBride isn't the Cardinals' representative," Kenyon writes . "Instead, the honor goes to Paris Johnson Jr. because of his projected future as the left tackle. The current plan , per Arizona coach Jonathan Gannon, is flipping Johnson from the right side to protect Kyler Murray in 2024."

This projection, for Johnson, tracks. He is already projecting massive amounts of confidence as the schedule inches toward training camp.

"Yeah, I think personally, just Year two, being able to fulfill all of the expectations that I have for myself, expectations that the team has for me being here. My goal ultimately is to be the best tackle in the game," Johnson said Monday on NFL Network's The Insiders.

Johnson allowed 42 pressures and eight sacks playing right tackle last season but didn't allow a sack in his final three games.

Arizona plans to move Johnson to left tackle. The team signed Jonah Williams to play the right tackle, making what Johnson has to say matter that much more.

Much of the success of Murray relies on Johnson playing up to his talent. If what he says is true, and what Kenyon writes comes to fruition, the Cardinals could be in a great situation moving forward.
