Level 1 evacuations (Get Ready) ordered for 4-5 acre wildfire in Stevens County

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. -- A 4-5-acre fire is burning in Stevens County on Thursday evening, according to Steven County Emergency Management.

On July 4 around 7:30 p.m., Level 1 (Get Ready) evacuations were ordered for a 4-5-acre wildfire burning near the Daisy Boat Launch near Rice, Washington along the Columbia River.

The fire is burning about an hour and a half drive north of Spokane.

Fire officials ask the public to avoid the area as they work to fight the flames.
