Main Street Theatre announced upcoming auditions for its upcoming Memories of Broadway: Comedy and Tragedy production, directed by Alexandra Adams, Ashlen Day and Lyndie Mansfield.

In-person auditions will be held by appointment at the Main Street Theatre on Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to noon, and Tuesday, July 30, from 6:20 to 8:20 p.m. Video submissions are welcome.

Please complete the audition form at https:// forms.gle/NrkXQ3SvB8NGorSg6. The last box contains a link where you can select your audition time.

Auditions are open to performers aged 16 and up. Those auditioning should bring or send a list of three songs you feel best highlight your voice and fit the Comedy and Tragedy theme. Be prepared to sing 32 bars of one of your chosen songs, and don't forget to bring your enthusiasm and passion for theater. There will NOT be an audition pianist. Please bring pre-recorded accompaniment tracks. We will provide a bluetooth speaker and an auxiliary cord for your device. A Capella auditions will not be accepted. Video auditions can be arranged.

Bring a current headshot and theatrical resume. Professional headshots are not required. You can take one with your phone in front of a solid background. If you don’t have a headshot and/ or resume, don’t let that stop you from auditioning.

    Email questions to ssmainsttheatre@gmail. com.

Individual practices will be scheduled with the accompanist and will be in the Hunt County area. You will be able to make a recording of the accompaniment during one of these rehearsals to use as a practice track. Group rehearsals will be scheduled at the theater during the two weeks prior to opening night. Please note: You will be required to memorize your songs, as a teleprompter for lyrics will not be available.

Performances are set for Friday-Sunday, Sept. 13-15 and Sept. 20-22. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7 p.m., and Sunday matinee performances begin at 2:30 p.m.
