Stranger Things Season 4 spoilers below.
As you are probably aware, production on the highly-anticipated fifth and final season of Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things is currently underway, and fans can’t wait to find out how it is all going to end.
In recent months, British actor Joseph Quinn has sparked speculation that he will be making an appearance in the upcoming episodes — despite his character, Eddie Munson , being killed off back in Season 4.
This includes his heartbreaking death in the Season 4 finale, when Eddie sacrificed himself to help Dustin fend off evil Vecna’s demobats. He ultimately died in Dustin’s arms, but in order to get out alive, Dustin was forced to leave Eddie’s body in the Upside Down.
And Joseph has now added fuel to the fire after being asked about a potential Stranger Things return during an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast this week.
Joseph then confirmed that he does know what is going to happen in the upcoming season, saying: “I’m excited to see how they do it. I think it’s going to be amazing. I’ve heard some ideas from the fifth season, and I think it’s going to surpass all of our expectations.”
Earlier in the podcast, Joseph also revealed that his iconic Eddie Munson hairstyle was very nearly completely different, and that showrunners originally wanted his hair to emulate David Bowie ’s iconic Labyrinth look.
“I just couldn’t do it,” he continued. “So we would hack away at the wig and we kind of found this in-between state. Between this kind of Labyrinthian monster and something that felt rooted somehow on this planet. We got there in the end; it was a journey.”
The final season of Stranger Things is expected to hit our screens next year, and the creators previously teased that the final 20 minutes of the show have been “ locked in ” for quite a while.
