    Victim identified in Mingo County fatal shooting

    UPDATE (2:52 p.m. on Friday, July 5): A man shot in the Lenore area of Mingo County has been identified.

    According to the West Virginia State Police, Charles Speer, 42, of Kermit, was shot multiple times after a fight at a residence along Route 65 early Friday morning. They say he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    No charges have been filed at this time, according to the WVSP. This is an ongoing investigation.


    UPDATE (2:38 p.m. on Friday, July 5): One person is dead after a shooting in the Lenore area of Mingo County, according to the West Virginia State Police.


    MINGO COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Mingo County dispatchers tell 13 News one person was injured in a shooting Friday morning.

    Dispatch says it happened in the Lenore area and that West Virginia State Police is investigating.
