Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza’s romcom Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is undoubtedly one of the most beloved Bollywood movies. The light-hearted love story with a lot of comedy and drama is still a fan favorite. As the movie has clocked 16 years, its cast had a digital reunion and surprised fans with a special video.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na features unconditional love between two best friends who later realize they want to spend the rest of their lives together. Much like the Imran Khan starrer, several Bollywood romcoms have been made. From Wake Up Sid to Piku, the list is given below.

    Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani

The 2013 romcom Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is an ode to friendship and love. Despite their complicated friendship, Bunny and Naina realize they love each other. Even Bunny’s casanova character starts believing in the power of love. The movie, directed by Ayan Mukerji, stars Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin, and Aditya Roy Kapoor.

    Wake Up Sid

Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma starred in a beautiful love story titled Wake Up Sid in 2009. The movie follows the story of Sid, a spoilt son of a businessman, who is clueless about the career path he wants to choose. However, an aspiring writer helps him navigate through life and opens the doors to her home. After being best friends and roommates for a long time, the two fall in love.

Wake Up Sid is available to watch on Netflix.

    Break Ke Baad

The 2010 movie Break Ke Baad is another romcom by Imran Khan. He shared the screen space with Deepika Padukone in the film, which did not receive positive reviews from the audience at the time of its release. However, with time, fans enjoyed the movie and complimented the actors’ performances. Much like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, the movie is based on the love story of two best friends who do not understand how important they are to one another.

    Aisha

Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol starred in a beautiful love story, Aisha. The movie follows the story of Aisha, a rich but kind-hearted woman who loves to play a matchmaker. However, during her quest to find partners for her friends, she realizes how Arjun, her best friend, brings peace to her life. Directed by Rajshree Ojha, the movie was released in 2010.

    Piku

Piku and Rana from the 2015 movie Piku are still one of the fans’ favorite couples. The movie, which stars Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan, is a feel-good comedy-drama with some romance. Shoojit Sircar directed the movie, which has an IMDb rating of 7.6 out of 10.

    Kho Gaye Hum Kahan

While the comedy-drama Kho Gaye Hum Kahan does not have a budding romance between friends, it features a beautiful bond between a trio. Much like the friends’ group of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Ahana, Imaad, and Neil are inseparable. When time tests their close bond, they somehow overcome it and emerge to be stronger together.

    Meri Pyaari Bindu

Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra‘s 2017 movie Meri Pyaari Bindu also has a complicated love story of two friends. Despite being best friends since childhood, Bindu realizes that she does not love Abhimanyu. While love does not prevail in their story, Abhimanyu is still fond of the experiences.

    Band Baaja Baaraat

Ranveer Singh made his acting debut with the blockbuster movie Band Baaja Baaraat opposite Anushka Sharma. It follows the story of Bittoo and Shruti, who become business partners and open their own wedding planning firm. Despite refusing to like each other for a long time, they finally confess their feelings and tie the knot.

In conclusion, Bollywood has several movies celebrating love and friendship, just like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. However, all these stories are unique in their own way.
