Suspended boxer Ryan Garcia was expelled by the World Boxing Council following a tirade in which he used racial slurs against and expressed his hatred toward Black people, as well as Jews and Muslims, during a live X space Thursday (July 4).

"Exercising my authority as president of the WBC, I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization. We reject any form of discrimination. I fear for Ryan well being as he has declined multiple attempts for our help with mental health and substance abuse," WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman wrote on his X account.

Garcia is already serving a one-year suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission after testing positive for ostarine , considered to be a banned performance-enhancing drug, prior to his April 20 decision victory over Devin Haney -- which has since been overturned to a no decision -- and it wasn't immediately clear what sanctions the WBC would take against the boxer.

Garcia shared a statement on his X account claiming he was "trolling" during the tirade.

"I was trolling I want all the killing to stop," Garcia wrote. "I love everyone sorry if I offended you."

Garcia was arrested last month on felony vandalism charges for an incident at a Beverly Hills hotel resulting in $15,000 worth of damage. The boxer's family addressed his recent behavior, as well as his social media tirade, and claimed they "do not align with his, or our family's, true character or beliefs" in a statement obtained by ESPN .

"Our family unequivocally does not support any statements [Garcia] has made regarding race or religion -- these do not reflect who Ryan truly is and how he was raised," the statement reads. "Those who know Ryan can attest to this fact. Ryan has been open about his ongoing struggle with mental health over the years and as a family we are committed to ensuring and encouraging that he receives the necessary help to navigate this very challenging time and address both his immediate and long-term well-being."
