Five contestants are vying for the Dallas County Fair Queen crown. The coronation ceremony, which is open to the public, will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at Center Stage.

The 2024 fair queen contestants include:

    • Maitlyn Bucklin-Pagano, 2024 graduate of Waukee Northwest
    • Kelsey Greenslade, will be a senior at ADM
    • Brinna Orr, will be a senior at Woodward-Granger
    • Sophie Meekma, 2024 graduate of Dallas Center-Grimes
    • Courtney Wojtowicz, 2024 graduate of Dallas Center-Grimes

The coronation ceremony will begin with a brand new Little Miss Dallas County Fair Contest. There are 16 girls registered, ages 6-8, all residents of Dallas County. The participants will each answer two questions live, ending with naming the 2024 Little Miss Dallas County Fair. Immediately following will be the coronation of the 2024 Dallas County Fair Princess and Dallas County Fair Queen.

At the judging on Saturday, June 29 for the queen contest, the five excellent Dallas County residents ages 17 and 18 participated in individual interviews, a group interview, and a meal with the judges. The candidates' experiences serving their communities and schools include promoting disability awareness, serving at-risk youth, taking ag education to suburban classrooms, bring positive changes to mental health policies in schools, and more. The contest is mirrored after the Iowa State Fair Queen Contest, in which our 2024 queen will participate in August.
