‘It’s karma!’ people shout as gutted wedding guest spots awkward design hidden on her £315 dress

A WOMAN has been brutally slammed online after sharing the dress she had ordered to wear to a wedding.

Fashion fan, only known as @ g_nastyyy , took to TikTok to show off her order which arrived with an awkward design she hadn’t spotted earlier.

However, the gown had a hidden surprise she wasn’t aware of when ordering the dress – adorable kittens

The gown, which cost her an eye-watering £315, was a gorgeous maxi dress by the high-end brand Anthropologie and featured a lovely floral print.

The pricey garment, which boasted the on-trend puff sleeves, as well as a milkmaid-inspired neckline, was the perfect pick in the shopper’s eyes.

But unfortunately for the young woman, from New York , the USA, the item wasn’t necessarily what she was hoping for, as there was a little surprise on the dress.

After trying the show-stopper of a frock on, the wedding guest realised that there was another element on the material – adorable little kittens scattered around.

”I mean like its kinda cute but not what i was expecting,” the TikTok user wrote in the caption of the video , where she described the incident as a major ”fail”.

But whilst many, like the woman, found it funny, some social media users insisted that it was ”karma” for wanting to attend a wedding in a dress that’s light in colour.

This is absolutely unacceptable for a wedding

    Critic TikTok

Hundreds of fellow TikTok fans flocked to comments where they criticised the shopper’s pick, claiming she got what she deserved.

”That was karma, you can’t wear a white or cream base dress to a wedding,” wrote one person, with 13.7k others liking the comment.

Someone else agreed, adding: ”In pictures, it will be very white which pulls attention.”

”This is absolutely unacceptable for a wedding,” a third remarked.

As well as slamming the colour choice, some were baffled by the price tag.

”Why are you spending that much on a wedding guest dress anyway babe,” wondered one viewer.

Luckily for the young woman, whose video has gone viral with 3.3million views, not everyone thought the garment was not fit for nuptials.

Why you should never wear white to a wedding

JOSIE Griffiths, Deputy Editor at Fabulous, who is tying the knot this year, has shared her thoughts on wearing white to a wedding...

Josie Griffiths said: I tend to consider myself pretty low maintenance from a fashion and beauty point of view.

I can be out the door in 20 minutes in the morning, normally do my mascara on the bus or the Tube, and spend my work from home days in my gym gear.

But when it comes to my wedding this summer, that’s all gone out the window.

Professional hair and makeup is booked for 8am, I’ve gone all out on my wedding dress, got designer shoes and even bought a second dress for the evening do.

So when I think about someone wearing a white gown to my big day, yeah I think I’d be pretty mad.

The idea behind not wearing a white dress goes back to not wanting to ‘upstage the bride’.

Which, to be fair, is unlikely. Not only has she possibly spent a small fortune on her look for the day, she’s also one of the only two people present who knows (and hopefully likes) all the guests.

So the main risk you’re taking is just making yourself look quite silly – and getting gossiped about by total strangers.

A wedding guest I met in October 2022 still sticks out in my mind. I still don’t know what was worse – the fact she was so drunk she was crashing into people on the dance floor, or her decision to wear a white dress, which was arguably marginally improved by the glass of red wine she’d drunkenly tipped down herself.

I know weddings are expensive for everyone and it’s fair enough if you don’t want to buy a whole new outfit – I’m all for re-using what’s already in your wardrobe.

Just avoid the white dress for the bride’s sake – and your own.

One raced to hit back at the trolls, writing: ”You absolutely can wear a white or cream base, the idea is not to be mistaken for the bride and that’s not happening with this dress.”

”That’s a stupid rule that came about in the past 10-15 yrs…before that no one cared what someone wore to their wedding,” another thought.

A woman who was set to tie the knot next year also chimed in with her thoughts on the matter, giving the frock a thumbs-up.

”I’m a 2025 bride… would love if someone wore this to our wedding!”
