Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo are set to face each other in a must-win Olympic qualifier tournament semi-final on Saturday. Greece and Slovenia face each other with a spot in the qualifying tournament final on the line, and the winner of their game will face the winner of Croatia and Dominican Republic's game.

Either Giannis or Luka will be missing out on the chance to reach the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris if they lose. And a win doesn't guarantee them a spot at the Olympics either, as they must then defeat either Croatia or the Dominican Republic in the final to secure their spot in Paris.

Doncic had a great game last night to secure Slovenia's spot in the knockout stage of the tournament. Against New Zealand, Doncic put up 36 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, as Slovenia won the game by 26 points.

Doncic and Slovenia missed the chance to face Croatia in the closing moments of the game.

Luka missed a key three-point attempt to extend the lead to 29 points, which would have put them ahead of Croatia in their group on points difference and allowed them to face the Dominican Republic in the semi-final. Doncic was clearly frustrated after the game, and even cursed at a reporter who was interviewing him .

Doncic and Slovenia actually played at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and had a great performance. They had the best performance in the group stages, leading all the teams in the tournament. They lost their opportunity to go to the gold medal game after losing to France and narrowly missed out on a bronze medal after losing to Australia.

Luka Doncic And Giannis Antetokounmpo Looking To Win Olympic Gold

Slovenia's run in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics marked their first time playing basketball at the Olympic games. Prior to that tournament, they had never been able to qualify. But thanks to Luka Doncic, they got that chance. And they will be relying on him to do so again.

As for Greece, a win against Slovenia will give them a shot at making their fifth-ever appearance at the Olympic Games, and their first appearance since the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Greece will be excited about the opportunity to have Giannis Antetokounmpo represent them at the Olympics, as his dominance could give them a chance at winning a medal at the prestigious games.

Giannis has been playing very well throughout this tournament. He currently leads the tournament in scoring and is averaging 32.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. Doncic is right behind Giannis in scoring, averaging 31.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 10.0 assists. Doncic actually leads the tournament in assists and has played one more game than Giannis.

The Dominican Republic will be without Karl-Anthony Towns on their team, who was excluded from the tournament roster. While KAT is a big star to miss, the Dominican Republic will pose a threat to any team underestimating them. As for Croatia, they have been the best performers in their group and will be tough to overcome.

Both teams have a strong chance of winning the game and making it to the final of this tournament. But it is not as simple as winning the game and then coasting in the final. Both the Dominican Republic and Croatia have strong teams and will pose a threat to the winner between Greece and Slovenia.
